Trail Shots is a little patriotic this week for the Fourth of July.
For the holiday on Monday, Kameron Kidrick led a group up 9,156-foot Old Baldy in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, flying "Old Glory" at the top.
The group ran about 16 miles round trip, reaching the second highest point on the Rocky Mountain Front from Route Creek Pass and the Middle Fork Teton trailhead northwest of Choteau.

They ran up the North Fork of the Blackfoot River to North Fork Falls and the burned remnants of a lookout atop 7,561-foot Falls Point in the Scapegoat Wilderness.

"The Highline Trail is open for business! Prepare for patchy, low angle snow in some areas along the trail," the park posted on its Facebook page.
At least a couple of runners made alternate plans when they found the 7.6-mile trail between Logan Pass and Granite Park was still closed over the holiday weekend.
